2 Men Punch, Kick Bicyclist in Possible Bias Attack in Williamsburg: NYPD

Police are searching for two men in a possible bias attack on a bicyclist in Brooklyn early Sunday.

The men on skateboards approached a 25-year-old man on a bicycle in the area of Leonard and Jackson streets in Williamsburg at about 5 a.m. and made "racial remarks," according to the victim and police.

They then knocked the victim, Felix Valanzuela, off his bike and repeatedly punched and kicked him, bruising his right eye.

Valanzuela, who is from Guatemala, told NBC 4 New York in Spanish that he'd gotten into a dispute with them over who had the right of way at a stop sign.

"They started saying he's an immigrant and that he shouldn't be in this country," a friend of Valanzuela said as he translated.

The victim was treated for his injuries at Woodhull Hospital and released.

Police have released a sketch of one of the suspects, described as about 25 to 35 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
