Gun-Pointing Man Shot by Cops in Bronx: Police

A man who allegedly stalked down a Bronx sidewalk with a gun in his hand, pointing it randomly at people, was shot by cops when he refused to drop the gun, police said. 

A driver flagged officers on Tinton Avenue Monday afternoon, telling them he saw a man with a gun, accoridng to police. Three officers responded and saw the suspect with a gun in his hand. 

They repeatedly ordered him to drop the gun and after he ignored their orders, two of the officers fired three shots, police said. One of the shots hit the suspect in the upper right arm. 

The 29-year-old suspect was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition. A 22-caliber Ruger pistol was recovered at the scene, police said. 

Surveillance video released by police shows the suspect walking down the sidewalk with a gun in his hand, pointing it randomly at a man closing the doors on a van and at a small dog that approaches him.
