Police found a loaded gun, drugs and an alligator in a Poughkeepsie home before arresting 28-year-old John Simmons. He faces four years in prison.
Simmons was sentenced earlier this week, and ordered to pay $7,000 in restitution, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
He had pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
When police executed a search warrant on his home last summer, they found a .22-caliber revolver, some marijuana and cocaine and a 2-foot-long alligator.
