Police have arrested a Brooklyn man in a hit-and-run car accident that left a 9-year-old girl critically injured. The mother of Nacirema Brown says her daughter is in a medically induced coma at Brookdale Medical Center. Dakema Brown says the girl has a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and is "not breathing on her own." She says doctors have given her daughter a 50 percent chance of survival. Police say a car struck the girl Saturday evening as she crossed Rockaway Avenue at Glenmore Avenue in Brooklyn. They say the operator of the vehicle berated the girl as she laid motionless in the street then got back in the vehicle and drove off. Police have charged 41-year-old Jerry Coleman with leaving the scene of an accident.
