Police shot a man who stabbed one of his roommates and refused to stop his attack in Brooklyn Sunday, authorities say.

Police arrived shortly before 9 p.m. when they received a call about a roommate dispute and two men fighting on Shepherd Avenue in Cypress Hills. While police were investigating, the roommate, 31-year-old Francis DeJesus, came into the apartment and stabbed one of his roommates in both forearms, officials said.

The victim ran away from DeJesus, but the suspect chased him with a knife and refused to comply with an officer's command for him to drop the weapon, police said. An officer opened fire and shot him one time in the torso, officials said.
