Plaza Hotel Wants Citi Bike Rack Gone

The Plaza hotel says a Citi Bike rack outside its front door is an eyesore that causes traffic backups.

Lawyers for the Plaza and the city squared off in a Manhattan court Tuesday.

The hotel wants the Citi Bike rack removed from Grand Army Plaza.

The hotel and condominium says the 147-foot-long Citi Bike rack is unappealing and causes limousine backups in front of the hotel during major events. The bike rack is in a former traffic lane.

A city lawyer says it's an ideal spot for a bike station: centrally located, with Central Park and other attractions nearby.

A judge didn't immediately rule.
