85-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Crushed Between Car, Truck: NYPD

An 85-year-old man was killed Tuesday after he was crushed between two cars on the Upper East Side, police say.

The man was walking on a crosswalk at 71st Street and Third Avenue around 10:30 p.m. when a blue sedan backed up towards him.

The sedan pinned the man against a parked box truck as it backed up, causing severe injuries to the man’s legs, police said.

Although he was rushed to Cornell Medical Center, he did not survive.

The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene after the crash. He or she was taken to Cornell Medical Center for emotional trauma.

No arrests have been reported.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
