Temperatures Break Records in New York, Connecticut

The weather felt more like summer than November in the tri-state area as temperatures smashed records in New York and Connecticut Friday.

According to Storm Team 4, the mercury had climbed to 74 degrees at John F. Kennedy International Airport by mid-afternoon, breaking the previous record of 70 degrees for this day.

Temperatures at LaGuardia Airport hit 73 degrees, breaking the previous record of 71 degrees. And in Bridgeport, Connecticut, 71-degree temperatures by mid-afternoon also broke records.

In Central Park, the thermostat reached 74 degrees, tying the previous record set in 1948.

Temperatures will start to drop Saturday, with highs in the low 60s. Sunday will feel more like fall, with a high of 55 degrees and breezier weather in the forecast.

Expect plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-to-high-50s early next week.
