Man Punches, Robs MTA Worker: Police

A man punched an MTA maintenance worker in the face and stole his two-way radio in a Queens subway station, police said.

The suspect approached the 61-year-old MTA worker at the Sutphin Boulevard subway station at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday and accused him of stealing his cellphone.

The worker, who did not have the man’s cell phone, ignored him. The suspect then punched him in the face and grabbed his two-way radio, police said.

He then smashed the radio on the floor of the station and fled, police said. He is still at large.
