Man Leads Police in Three-Tire Car Chase

A Long island man faces a slate of criminal charges after recklessly driving a car with only three tires, police said.

Suffolk County police followed a gold-colored 2007 Cadillac on the Southern State Parkway at about 5 a.m. Saturday after noting that the vehicle was missing a tire and travel ling without illuminated headlights and taillights, police said.

The car sped down the highway, but became inoperable on the Belt Parkway in Laurelton, police said.

The driver, Winston Treasure, of Deer Park, and a woman passenger got out the car and ran. Nassau County police officers and state police troopers gave chase and apprehended them, officials said.

Treasure resisted arrest by flailing his arms and legs and punching and kicking officers, police said.

He was charged with three counts of DWI, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, two counts of criminal possession of marijuana and several traffic violations, officials said.

His woman companion wasn't charged.

There was no information as to whether Treasure obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
