Police Arrest Suspect in Stalking of Girl, 15, at Subway

Police say they've arrested a man who allegedly followed a 15-year-old girl around a Brooklyn subway station on two separate occasions and tried to get her to leave with him earlier this month.

The 29-year-old man from Brooklyn was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted kidnapping, acting in a manner injurious to a child and stalking, police said.

Police said they identified and arrested the suspect thanks to a tip to the Crime Stoppers hotline.

Authorities say the girl first noticed the suspect starting at her as she was on the southbound platform of the Atlantic Avenue station around 8:15 a.m. Dec. 9. The suspect walked up to her, grabbed her arm and told her to come with him. The victim refused and the suspect ran off, police said.

Six days later, around the same time, the victim was on the platform again when she noticed the suspect following her. Again, he tried to get her to leave with him, and again she refused, according to police.
