Cops Look for Daytime ATM Robbery Suspect

New York City police are investigating a pair of ATM robberies that occurred in broad daylight in busy neighborhoods of Manhattan.

Police say the first robbery occurred on Sept. 3 at a Citibank branch in Columbus Circle. The second was at a Chase branch on West 23rd Street on Sept. 11.

In each case, police say, a woman who had just withdrawn cash was approached from behind by the same man who demanded the money after claiming he had a gun.

No one was injured. Police are looking for the suspect who was captured on the ATM's security camera. It was not immediately known how much money he got away with.

Anyone with information should call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
