Health officials say the flu might be to blame in the death of a second Long Island child this season.
The Nassau County Department of Health said Monday that the initial finding of Influenza A was made by the medical examiner in the death a 9-year-old Woodmere student.
Conclusive laboratory test results are expected later this week.
The first death due to the flu was confirmed in a 10-year-old Levittown child last month.
Flu symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, weakness,runny rose, sore throat and cough, and occasionally vomiting and diarrhea in children.
