Robbers Hit Midtown Jewelry Store, Steal $70K in Watches

Two men made off with watches valued at $70,000 in a brazen daytime robbery at a jewelry store in Midtown Manhattan, police said Saturday.

Surveillance video shows the two men inside Kenjo Jewelry Store on West 57th Street Friday afternoon. One of them pulled out a gun and demanded employees put watches in a bag.

The employees complied and the suspects fled with 43 watches, police said. No one was hurt during the holdup.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

The robbery occurred on the same block where a gunman walked into Travelex Currency Services inside the Plaza Hotel on Monday and left with more than $3,000 in euros.
