A pair of experienced fishermen were found dead in a Westchester reservoir less than a day after they went out on the water in a rowboat, officials said.
Ngan Kong, 48, of Brooklyn, and Ma Weitau, 47, of Staten Island, went out on the Muscoot Reservoir in Goldens Bridge in a rowboat Monday afternoon, Captain David Atkins of the New York State Police said.
The two called family members around 5 p.m. to say they were planning to keep fishing, according to Atkins.
That was the last time family members heard from the two men. Another fisherman discovered their bodies and capsized boat in the water around 7 a.m. Tuesday, Atkins said.
The two men were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Atkins said the two men had permits to fish on the reservoir and were both wearing life jackets when they were found.

They may have accidentally drowned, or died of hypothermia, as the water was around 38 degrees, he said.
It wasn't immediately clear why their boat capsized, but rain and wind could have been factors, according to Atkins.
