Apotheke tells us it has given out about 100 of its private-entry keys, but if you haven't received one yet, don't; more will be given out in the New Year. And if you want to celebrate New Year's there with an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres, entry is $200 (tables are $1,000). Per the invite, satin gloves will be provided for women. Cigars will be provided for men. (Yes, Albert Trummer knows how to please the ladies; in a delightful Gothamist interview today, he reveals that he started throwing parties at age 16, in the basement of his dad's restaurant in Austria: He wanted to make my girlfriends a little drunk and tipsy, you know.) Finally, while we were talking about the Bloody Angle, the space at 1 Doyers Street a few doors down from Apotheke, formerly belonging to Bagus Malaysia Restaurant, is for rent. Snatch it up and the next Chinatown cocktail den could be yours!
