Martino & Rodrigues are aiming to give Salvatore Ferragamo a run for his money: The shoe and accessory designers are fresh off the boat from Naples and setting up their first U.S. shop in the Milan Luxury space in SOHO (at 57 Green Street). Look for strappy sandals adorned with Swarvoski crystals, leather T-strap platforms and handbags with just the right amount of bling (very little) all handmade by Neapolitan craftsman.

Ladies looking for the kind of attention to detail that only the Italians can give may just be willing to cash in their 401(k)s to pick up a pair of suede and patent leather pumps with that delicate two-toned bow. And, depending on the penalty, maybe even indulge in a Froufrou croccodile-skin purse.

It also pays not to procrastinate: Starting this week and for the next month, everything is 20% off (and they only make about 150 pairs a week, so if something tickles your fancy it's probably best not to wait for the H&M imitation). The length of their stay is indefinite and based, obviously, on how prepared New Yorkers are to drop the big bucks for a sexy pair of shoes (has this ever been a problem?)
