Lindsay Lohan to Stay On at Ungaro

Despite the fact that her first collection on board at Ungaro as artistic adviser was almost universally panned, spurring rumors that the actress would be dismissed from her current post, it seems La Lohan will remain at the fashion house for at least another season.

As president and CEO Mounir Moufarrige told Reuters, the collection wasn't selling as well as expected (no surprise, we'd heard several major retailers had dropped the brand entirely for Spring 2010), but that the starlet wasn't going anywhere. "Yes (she's staying on," he said at the Milan Fashion Global Fashion Summit recently. "She has a job to do."

Moufarrige even defended Lohan's collection (which, lest we forget, featured stripper-inspired pasties), saying that the criticism of her pieces was "harsh." "I am sure we can do better in the collection to be honest," he admitted, "but I think it was harsh." He even said that some stores had really shown interest in buying the collection, including Harvey Nichols, Harrods, and Bloomingdales. We'll certainly be keeping our eyes peeled at Bloomingdales come March to see if the collection actually made the cut.
