For one night, experience a time before Twitter at the (usually members-only) landmarked Gramercy Park Players Club, which party creators Gemini & Scorpio are turning into a full-blown Belle Epoque salon and cabaret tomorrow night.
Barely a detail’s been spared: Sip your way through a menu of themed cocktails (we smell absinthe) as you take in the marble fireplaces and breathe rarefied air on the wrought-iron balcony. Be dazzled by a truly eclectic cabaret lineup hand-picked by the Slipper Room's illustrious owner James Habacker (who’s calling himself Chester Mackerel for the night, because, you know, why not?) featuring everything from the tap-dancing Minsky Sisters to JC Hopkins' Biggish Band fronted by the sassy Queen Esther. It’ll be like the Algonquin Round Table with swing dancing (not very 1800s, but who cares?), like The Box sans seamy controversy (that we know of). Look sharp!
