East Village: Here is a more complete look at Elsa, the East Village's newest cocktail lounge and the total makeover of former dive Hanger Bar. The owners' goals here: to be "elegant, sophisticated, and original" like the project's namesake, fashion world figure Elsa Schiaperalli. On the originality front: draught beers will be served out of an antique sewing machine, and the front half will be taken up by a boutique selling work of Jake Mueser, who will be creating bespoke men's suits.
