Diane von Furstenberg Collections for GapKids, Baby Gap to Launch Next March

Reports that Diane von Furstenberg would be collaborating with Gap on a kids' line have gone from rumor to reality, with Gap confirming the news to WWD: the designer's capsule collections for babies and little girls 0-14 years will hit stores beginning March 2012.

In describing what to expect from the line -- sketches of which had been leaked already, and subsequently buzzed about earlier this month -- Gap North America president Art Peck pointed to Von Furstenberg's “signature approach to print, optimistic color and femininity, mixed with our expertise in great quality premium children’s clothing at accessible prices.”

DVF's exuberant aesthetic should translate well to kidswear, and serve as a solid follow-up to Stella McCartney's successful, two-season run with the chain.
