Bid on Red Carpet Gowns Worn By Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Alba, More

For the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, Gap -- the evening's main sponsor -- commissioned several top designers to make one-of-a-kind ensembles specially for the event. Now, one of those gowns could be yours.

Gap has put all of the specially-created outfits up for auction on a special site, with proceeds going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The outfits fashion-obsessed gals will be bidding on are all as varied as they are unique, from the dreamy bride-inspired Rodarte gown worn by Kisten Dunst to the metallic crochet sheath designed by Alexander Wang for M.I.A. The designers involved in the project were cherry-picked by Gap among the most acclaimed new stars of the industry, including Sophie Theallet, Alexander Wang, Thakoon, and Rodarte.

While the auction isn't run eBay-style, in that the current highest bid is not shown on the site. While it's a bit of a disappointment (we're dying to know how much the Rodarte is currently running), it does at least allow shoppers to set a personal budget. The auction runs through May 30, and winning bidders will be notified on or around June 1.
