When the penthouse at Palazzo Chupi—sweet, sweet Palazzo Chupi—was chopped to $24 million, we asked Curbed readers which property listed at $24M would be the first to sell: the Chupster, a duplex penthouse on nearby Perry Street, an entire Chelsea walk-up building, or a 4BR co-op in the legendary Dakota on Central Park West. Far and away folks thought the Dakota apartment, listed since June, would be claimed before the others. That may be true, but it won't be for $24 million unless there's a frantic bidding war. Yesterday, the asking price on the sixth-floor apartment—with its four wood-burning fireplaces, 19th Century details and 29' living room—took a bit of a tumble.
