Smoking Means Business For Bars

advertisement

Bar owners across the country say that ignoring municipal smoking bans is simply good business. These rogue owners believe that their smoking customers will either stay home or go where their habits are welcome, and choose to either pay the small fines (as low as $25 per offense) or loosely enforce the rules. One Hawaii tavern owner only reminds customers that smoking is not allowed but does not force them to extinguish their sweet, sweet cigarettes, because enforcing the law isn't their job.
