Michelin 2010 Guide Unleashed: New Stars for Daniel, Corton

The Michelin New York 2010 dining guide will hit the shelves tomorrow with its verdicts on which restaurants deserve the guide's coveted stars, but reps have sent over a preview today, revealing the city's big winners and losers. In the winner's circle Daniel has joined Per Se, Masa, Le Bernardin, and Jean Georges in the three star club, a ranking that is internationally considered among the highest honors in the restaurant universe. Newcomer Corton enters the list with two stars, Alto is promoted to two from one, and Eleven Madison Park (a long overdue addition) finally makes the list with one star. Other newcomers in the onespot category: Marea, A Voce, Sho Shaun Hergatt, Seasonal, Sushi Azabu, Minetta Tavern, Rhong Tiam, Convivio, Marc Forgione, Bouley, Kajitsu, Soto, River Cafe, Rouge Tomate, Shalizar, and Casa Mono. Kind of bizarre that Marea and Rhong Tiam are sharing the same ranking.

On the losing side, Adour and Del Posto both lost stars, and Cru, Allen & Delancey, and Jojo were kicked off the list altogether. The full list is ahead, but please get in the comments to what should have made it, what shouldn't, and the guides various other peccadillos.
