The Boat Basin Café welcomes Crawfish for Cancer's annual boil.

DO GOOD, EAT WELL: Crawfish for Cancer is an idea that’s brilliant in its simplicity: Appeal to peoples’ appetites (in this case, for crawfish), and help a worthy cause at the same time--CFC is dedicated to raising funds for multiple myeloma research for cancer. Their Annual Crawfish Boil—which started at Williams College eight years ago, and has grown into much more than a family fundraiser—happens at the Boat Basin Café May 8. Hundreds of pounds of crawfish will be washed down with free-flowing beer, wine and whiskey, as live bands and the Hudson provide the backdrop. Saturday, 2-7PM

RE-FRESH: This is the motivation your flabby self needs: Self Magazine’s 17th Annual Workout in the Park brings the magazine’s mission to life in Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield with a day of exercise (Jennifer Aniston’s yoga instructor is teaching a class, and you’ll be able to sample Crunch’s newish Broadway dance classes, inspired by musical choreography), beauty and nutrition consultations, and more freebies than you can shake a Power Bar at. Saturday, 11AM-3PM (registration begins at 9AM).

LAST CALL: “Photocollage” sounds all prim, but the images on display as part of the Met Museum’s “Art of Victorian Photocollage” exhibit are anything but (Queen Victoria’s head pasted on a duck body, anyone?). Consider these whimsical, fantastical images created by bored Victorian aristocrats one of the earliest surviving examples of fun with Photoshop (or in their case, scissors). “Playing with Pictures,” organized by The Art Institute of Chicago, wraps after this weekend. Saturday and Sunday, times vary (check the website for information).
