TWOFER: Gladys Knight will be Pips-less when she takes the Seaside Summer Concerts stage in Coney Island tonight – but will you settle for Philly sound-progenitors the O’Jays? Get ready to do the ‘Midnight Train to Georgia’ woo-woos, y’all – not to mention the ‘Love Train.’ And it’s free. 7:30PM.

CH-CH-CHANGES: We’ll let the organizers of this event speak for themselves: Puppet Playlist #3 “will feature new works of puppetry inspired by the songs, lyrics and hairstyles of David Bowie.” You laugh – but former Puppet Playlists (themed to the music of Tom Waits and the Magnetic Fields) were sold out, and tonight’s Bowiestravaganza includes live music from some of our favorite emerging artists (like haunty-voiced singer-songwriter Leah Siegel). The Tank, 7:30 and 9:30PM.

FUNNY, THAT: Smart-mouthed stalwart Janeane Garofalo and Strangers With Candy’s Paul Dinello host a stellar lineup including comics Nathan Fielder, Jessi Klein, Tom McCaffrey, and A.D. Miles at their regularish Comedy Below Canal series at 92YTribeca. 9PM.
