David Byrne headlines Stories in High Fidelity at Bowery Ballroom on February 3.

Past iterations of the NYC-based reading and music series Stories in High Fidelity were littered with thinky bigshots like Chuck Klosterman and Robert Christgau, and February 3rd's installment follows in the tradition: They’ve tapped David Byrne. The multimedia artist and generally thirsty mind will trot out “Creation in Reverse”, his lecture on context informing creation (we told you about that back when he debuted it at Pete’s Candy Store). Also scheduled to appear:

“Alan Light is a frequent contributor to the New York Times, a columnist for msn.com, and the Director of Programming for the public television concert series "Live from the Artists Den." He is the former Editor-in-Chief of Vibe and Spin magazines, and a former Senior Writer for Rolling Stone. Alan is the author of "The Skills to Pay the Bills: The Story of the Beastie Boys" and the editor of several other books, and is a two-time winner of the ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award for excellence in music writing.

Dan Kennedy is author of the national best seller "Rock On: An Office Power Ballad" and the widely-acclaimed "Loser Goes First". The New York Times calls Rock On "Gently mordant, hilariously spot-on..." and The Times of London named it a Book of The Year, calling it a "High-spirited obituary for the record business." Kennedy is a longstanding contributor at McSweeney's dot net and regular host of The Moth StorySLAMs in New York City. His essays appear in GQ Magazine, and have been anthologized in "Love is a Four Letter Word", "Created in Darkness by Troubled Americans: The Best of McSweeney's Humor Category", "Our Noise: The Story of Merge Records", and other publications.”

And the always-excellent, ultra-bombastic singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins will contribute a special music performance with Brooklyn’s self-described “bar band” ECHOECHO.
