It's a new start for Burlington College in Vermont.

The board of trustees has formed a transitional team to lead the school while they look for a new president.

Monday, officials confirmed the resignation of former president Christine Plunkett, who abruptly quit on Friday after student protesters demanded to know more about the school's financial troubles.

The students are elated their voices were heard.

Jorge Alfonso said, "I've been very excited. It's not every day you see your institution see overhauls and changes especially in management. So I'm excited to see what new can come about it."

Brittany Shearer said, "I came here looking for a fresh start for myself and I think that's kind of cool that the school is getting a fresh start for itself, for the better,"
