Are You Smarter Than a Two Year Old?

Chicago boy knows every president by number, face

Vikram Narasimhan is 2 years old. So you might expect him to be in the prime of his "terrible twos," right?  Wrong.

Instead, this exceptional toddler spends his reading time doing something most adults can't -- naming all of the U.S. presidents in order. (Actually, it's something a few unnamed presidents probably couldn't do either).

Vikram's parents, Mamata and Badri, first noticed the boy's brilliance when he was just 18 months old. Young Vikram began repeating the words in books Badri read to him. Then he started reading ahead. Yes, Vikram was reading when he was one-and-a-half.

Recognizing his son had a gift, Badri says he began to see what else Vikram could do.

They bought some flash cards, and Vikram learned to recognize all the presidents on them by face and number in a week and a half, Badri said.

So, of course, we had to test little Vikram ourselves. And the kid was amazing. After a brief distraction by Thomas the Tank Engine, Vikram was spot on. He rattled off every president we came up with in the order they served.

Oh, and did we tell you he likes to jump? See, proof that he really is a 2-year-old.
