A motorcyclist is being treated at a hospital after he crashed on Long Island and became pinned under a parked car.

Newsday reports that Nikolas Thomaidis' Kawasaki motorcycle was split in two by the impact of the crash early Saturday in South Farmingdale.

Police say Thomaidis was thrown from the motorcycle onto the front yard of a private house. He became trapped under a Chevy Malibu parked in the driveway.

Thomaidis is in the intensive care unit at Nassau University Medical Center. Police say he was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He is awaiting arraignment at the hospital.
