Double Happyness Bus Line Still Running After Shutdown

Despite being ordered to cease operations, the bus company was seen running buses a day later.

A bus line plagued by safety violations was still on the road, a day after federal authorities ordered it to shut down immediately.

The New York Post reports that Double Happyness Travel buses were running as usual from their stops in Manhattan on Friday morning, the day after the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ordered the company to cease operations.

A worker at a ticket counter in New York's Chinatown initially told the newspaper that the company intended to keep going while it fought the government agency in court.

But after a federal inspector showed up at about 10 a.m., the bus line abruptly halted service and issued refunds to waiting passengers.
