Woman Dies in Bronx Club Shooting

Another man was shot in the right arm

A woman was killed by a gunshot to the head while at a Bronx nightclub early Sunday, and another man was shot in the arm, police said.

Gunshots were fired at about 4 a.m. at Club Heat at 405 Hunts Point Ave., according to police. Responding officers arrived to find a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head.

The woman, identified as Monique Rodriguez of the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 28, was shot in the right arm at the club, but fled in a private car, said police. He approached a parked ambulance in front of 1152 Randall Ave., and was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

It wasn't immediately clear whether why the two were shot.
