28-Year-Old Woman Killed by Metro-North Train After Dropping Wallet or Bag on Tracks: Official

A 28-year-old Connecticut woman trying to retrieve a wallet or handbag from the tracks was killed by a train pulling into the station, officials said. 

The unidentified woman was struck Friday morning at the Cos Cob station in Greenwich, a Metro-North Railroad spokesman said.

The train was heading to New Haven from Grand Central Terminal in New York.

Rail service was delayed by 30 to 40 minutes. Passengers were transferred to another train.

No other details were immediately available.
