A tractor-trailer jackknifed on the Long Island Expressway and some of the cars it was carrying toppled off and overturned.
One person was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after the wreck around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday between Main Street and Kissena Boulevard in Queens, officials said.
Police say no other vehicles were involved.
The highway's eastbound lanes were closed for about two and a half hours but have since reopened.
