Three duck hunters have been rescued by police after their boat became disabled in a Long Island marsh on Christmas Day.
A 39-year-old man and a 55-year-old man were towed to safety while aboard their motorized boat after it stopped working at about 5 p.m. Wednesday in Seadog Creek in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.
A police helicopter searched the area for about a half an hour looking for a third man who left the boat to set up a duck blind in the knee-high water, police said.
The helicopter eventually found the 40-year-old hunter, landed in the marsh and rescued him.
No one was injured.
