Rapist Follows Woman from Subway, Throws Her Down Stairs: Cops

The suspect threw a woman down a flight of stairs in Queens and then raped her

Authorities are looking for a man who followed a woman off the subway in Queens, threw her down a flight of stairs and then raped her.

The suspect followed a 52-year-old woman off the R Train at 63rd Drive and Queens Boulevard in Rego Park at around 10 p.m. Friday and began asking her for her name and phone number, police say. Then he allegedly followed her into a nearby Rite Aid and harassed her before walking out of the store.

The suspect was waiting for the woman when she left the store, police said. He threw her down a flight of stairs, raped her and stole her cell phone and purse before running off, authorities said.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

Police are searching for the suspect; the victim told her his name was "Junior."

Authorities released surveillance video of the suspect (above) captured at the Rite Aid.

Anyone with information about the rape is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
