A 22-year-old off-duty NYPD officer was killed in a car accident that left his vehicle twisted around a tree in East Flatbush early Thursday, police said.

Authorities responding to a 911 call near Kings Highway and Beverly Road at about 4:15 a.m. found the young officer with serious trauma to his body after his Nissan struck a tree.

He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Law enforcement sources say the officer crashed his car just 12 minutes after his overnight shift ended.

The investigation is ongoing.
