Person Killed After Falling in Between Two Subway Cars: MTA

A customer on a southbound F train was killed Saturday afternoon after falling between two train cars. MTA officials confirmed that the rider was walking in between subway cars when they fell.

The unidentified person was declared dead at the scene, according to the FDNY. The train was about 100 feet north of the West 4th Street station.

Power to the subway line was shut off and passengers were asked to evacuate by walking through the train cars, then walking along the track to the station.

A number of subway lines were interrupted as police investigated, authorities said.

Southbound F trains are running on the E line between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and West 4th Street, the MTA said.

Southbound D trains are running on the A line between West 59th Street and West 4th Street.

Additionally, a number of F trains are being diverted in Brookyln and Queens. Some F trains will run on the G line between Jackson Heights and Bergen Street.

The MTA suggests allowing additional travel time as the police investigation continues.
