NJ Hospital Technician Sexually Attacked Incapacitated Woman: Police

A 40-year-old hospital worker has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a medical center in New Jersey, police said.

Richard Smith allegedly lifted the hospital gown of an incapacitated 25-year-old woman and touched her. The sexual attack happened at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, where Smith had worked as a patient care technician since May, police said.

Smith faces a string of charges in the case, including aggravated sexual assault and criminal sexual contact.

Smith previously worked at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, New Jersey, and at a private medical practice in Princeton.

It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
