Former News 4 Anchor Michele Marsh Dies at 63

Former News 4 New York anchor Michele Marsh died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. She was 63.

Marsh began her career in Maine, and worked at WCBS-TV for more than a decade before joining Chuck Scarborough on the anchor desk at WNBC in 1996.

Marsh anchored with Scarborough for nearly seven years and was part of a wave of women who broke onto news sets in New York City in the 70s, 80s and 90s. She won five Emmys during her broadast career.

Her family said she was surrounded by loved ones at her home in Connecticut when she passed away.

Broadcast journalists from across the city posted condolences Wednesday night on news of her passing.
