Police say a 54-year-old man who was hawking scrap metal door-to-door on Staten Island died after he was shot by another man on Friday night.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot around Arlington Place and Grandview Avenue in Mariners Harbor, according to officials.

The gunman allegedly shot the scrap-metal seller in the stomach and arm after getting into an argument with him. The victim was declared dead after being taken to Richmond County Medical Center, officials said.

There is no word on whether the police have identified a suspect in the deadly shooting.
