A New Yorker is going to prison for beating his mother so badly that she required surgical reconstruction of her face.
Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced the 15-year sentence Tuesday for Albert Crooks of Yonkers.
Crooks attacked his 58-year-old mother a year ago as they argued over the keys to her apartment.
He brutalized her with his fist and a heavy glass ashtray.
Her injuries included a broken eye socket. She now has a permanent titanium plate in her face.
He was convicted of assault and weapon possession.
