Suspect Arrested in Robbery, Sex Abuse of Woman on Upper East Side Street: NYPD

Police say they've arrested the man suspected of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman on the Upper East Side over the weekend.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Gregory Anderson of Harlem, allegedly accosted the 36-year-old victim as she was crossing Second Avenue near East 94th Street at about 5 a.m. Saturday, then forced her down the block to rob and sexually assault her, police said.

The woman fled to a nearby store, and the suspect followed her, according to police. He left when he couldn't locate her.

Anderson has been charged with robbery and sex abuse. Attorney information wasn't immediately clear.
