Woman Robbed, Sexually Assaulted on UES: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who allegedly accosted a woman as she crossing a street on the Upper East Side, robbed and sexually assaulted her, then tried to stalk her inside a grocery store after she fled.

Police say the 36-year-old woman was walking along East 94th Street when the man grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground after she crossed Second Avenue at about 5 a.m Saturday.

The suspect forced the woman to walk further down the block, then took $40 and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman fled to a nearby store, and the suspect followed her. Surveillance video from inside the store shows him trying to locate the victim and apparently arguing with a worker.

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Gregory Anderson. He was arrested in 2014 for drinking in public, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
