New Yorkers Have Longest Commute in Nation: Report

The report found New Yorkers spend an average of 48 minutes commuting each way

New Yorkers have the longest commute in the nation, according to a new report.

The report by the Partnership for New York City found that New Yorkers on average spend 48 minutes commuting to work and about the same time returning home.

That's about 13 minutes longer than the national average, according to the Daily News.

The report urged the city to increase its public transportation options as a means of reducing overall commute times.

It says more than half of commuters between Brooklyn and Queens have to drive due to "limited" public transit options.
