A Long Island man is under arrest, charged with strangling his girlfriend in front of their baby.
Suffolk County police say 35-year-old Justin Miller was being arraigned Sunday on charges of second-degree murder.
Authorities say he killed his 29-year-old girlfriend during an argument Saturday at the home they shared in Mastic.
Miller then called his sister, who called police.
Officers responding to the scene on Saturday found Teresa Heredia unconscious. She was later pronounced dead.
The couple's seven-month-old baby is in the care of a relative.
