Pick Your Horse: Kentucky Derby is Saturday

The 137th running of the Kentucky Derby is Saturday, and New Yorkers will honor the southern tradition by donning their best hats, sipping mint juleps and picking winners in one of the world's most prestigious horse races.

The derby is down to 19 horses after Uncle Moe was pulled from the race.

Owner Mike Repole says the colt has been scratched because he hasn't recovered enough from a stomach ailment to run in the 1.25-mile race. Uncle Mo was the 9-2 second choice on the morning line.

Dialed In is the 4-1 early favorite.

Repole made the announcement Friday morning, about 40 minutes before Derby wagering opened. In 2009, Derby favorite I Want Revenge was scratched on the morning of the race with a career-ending leg injury.

Uncle Mo's illness was discovered after he was upset in the Wood Memorial on April 9.
