Police say a 91-year-old man was arrested after striking a neighbor with his cane and then barricading himself inside his Long Island home.
John Walsh, of Centereach, was charged with criminal mischief, civilian harassment and menacing, according to Newsday.
Police say he was taken into custody after police set up a command post near his home and emergency services officers and a hostage negotiating team arrived on the scene.
Information on whether the man had a lawyer or other details about the incident was not immediately available.
