A half-dozen Long Island high school students were taken to the hospital Friday after they shared a candy bar laced with marijuana.
The Sachem High School North students were taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment after they ate a pre-packaged candy bar that indicated it contained marijuana on the label, the district said in a statement.
The district said the students went to the nurse's office after they began to feel the effects of the drug in the candy and were sent to the hospital as a precaution.
District superintendent Ken Graham said in a statement that administrators "take all situations involving drugs very seriously."
